This is my final outcomes for the making day, i really like how it turned out and i found it a really fun and freeing experience. So prior to the making day i had already decided what i wanted to take images of and i decided on candid images of strangers because when im out and about i feel as though im always observing everything and i really enjoy people watching i find it fascinating and i love capturing images of people when they're completely in the own world and just all caught up in their own busy lives. So i knew i needed to go on public transport whether that be buses or trains, so i got the train from Kidbrooke station to Peckham Rye and got a few different random buses around that area, and then after a few photos got the train from Peckham Rye to Bexley heath just to get a long train journey so i could capture a few different people and then went back to blackheath. I did end up taking some candid photos not on public transport but i still really enjoy those photos so i decided to share them anyway.
It wasnt too difficult to work in the constraints of about 4 hours, i would of liked to gone further into central London but i think that would of taken to long to get there and back so if i was going to do this again on my own time then id go somewhere more populated. What i found most enjoyable was being able to pick my own theme to photograph and being able to leave school and go out into the world and it was very freeing and i think its encouraged me to want to go out for the sole reason to take images. What i found challenging was probably my confidence holding me back a bit because its always nerve racking when taking images of strangers as the whole point is that you want to get a candid image without them knowing, so it always makes me nervous that at some point im going to be photographing the wrong person and they may react in a certain way. So because of this i might start photographing people but without their faces in it just so its more confidential and less invading their privacy and taking images without consent as i think that could be an interesting concept to look at peoples body language and to maybe try and gage how that person is feeling or going somewhere just by their clothes and body language instead of facial expression.
Most of the images i took weren't actually on public transport so they didn't match my original idea perfectly but im okay with that. I think the images i took on public transport i could of been a lot more confident doing as most of the images on trains are mainly empty seats as i didn't want people to realise i was photographing them.
I really like the online gallery i created with the three black and white images together and i really enjoyed the process of making it as well and think its a really cool way to present my images. I think for my first try at the online gallery with all of the coloured images i could of made all the images black and white or at least make them all have the same colour pallets or colour pallets that compliment each other.
I think for the next time i do this I'm going to use a proper digital camera and build up my confidence as i think those were the two things that held my images back, so I'm going to get more confident in using a digit camera and then also build up my confidence with actually taking the images because i think i have a good eye for photography, its just my confidence holding me back. The process of going outside solely to take images has influenced me to do that more and not just take photos here and there when I'm out but actually plan a day out just to take images. So in regards to my personal investigation im going to carry on taking candid images of strangers ( maybe trying to work with cutting their face out) and building up my confidence to do so. What i have planned next is to just go out a lot more with a digital camera and build up my experiments a bit more and refining my images.
